Eco-terrorism in Seattle

When Jonah Goldberg painted the current version of "liberal fascism" as a do-good, feel-good, 'happy-face' form of fascism, he included environmentalism.

Well, the not-so ‘happy-face’ of environmentalism has apparently reared it’s ugly head near Seattle, WA:

Fire engulfed five luxury homes Monday morning at a subdivision north of Seattle in what could be a case of ecoterrorism, officials said.

A sign with the letters "ELF" was found at the scene of the fires in the "Street of Dreams" development in Woodinville, Washington".

Built green? Nope black!" the sign reads ... The sign calls the homes "McMansions."

According to the FBI, the Earth Liberation Front claimed responsibility for burning five townhomes under construction on November 20, 2005, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Algore’s AGW hysteria mongering is coming home to roost.

But when you're doing it in the name of Mother Earth, it's acceptable, right? Right?

This blog is relevant to Luxury Homes that fire engulfed five luxury homes at a subdivision north of Seattle in what could be a case of ecoterrorism. This should not happen in the future.

I hardly think setting a couple show mansions on fire merits the term 'terrorism'. There is a vast difference between damaging property and damaging humans. While this may have been an irresponsible act, the enviornmental damage caused by the fumes of these burning buildings is a drop in the bucket compared to the enviornmental damaged wrecked by these wastefully huge overconsuming "enviornmentally friendly" 'McMansions'.

Anon,

Of course murder is a more serious form of politically motivated violence. But arson is similar in that it's violent, criminal and intended to intimidate. So 'eco-terrorism' seems a fitting name for destroying property in the name of environmentalism.

The rest of your comment appears to border on admiration for ELF's "irresponsible" use of arson as a means of improving the environment. Not a healthy sign.

This is issue is very intense and should be looked at very closely. TitanTV has recently brought up this subject on their website and have posted their show that talks about this on Youtube. The show is called Daily Greens and it examines environmental news. Check out the vide at http://youtube.com/watch?v=e5WhUNqMsmM.
